If you slowly raise/lower the framerate (instead of doing it all at once), does it not launch you as high? Might save several seconds if you don't have to wait to land again.
As far as I know theres no way to ”slowly” raise or lower the framerate. 6-7 fps is required for a Bevel to work (you can get it with higher fps but its very rare). These values will usually always give you a lot of height and theres not really any way for you to stop the acceleration

can you explain the little skips you're doing?
We pretty much use three glitch techs, one is CC meaning Crouch Clipping which is where we crouch up and down which makes our position gets displaced, and spamming crouch up and down allows you to clip and phase through some walls and doors. And then we got framerate toggling, when you see my game is lagging thats when I toggle my fps to a very low number, at lower framerate crouch clipping becomes way easier and we also introduce low gravity (The game's gravity is a value which is related to FPS). At 6:02 i do another glitch tech called a Bevel. If you hit a slope or angle you will gain vertical velocity because the game sees it as a stair and wants to push you up the stairs. hope this helps, if you got any other questions you can join the alien isolation speedrunning discord server theres a link on speedrun.com, very friendly community if you are interested in speedrunning
